Mnadaishaje?!
ya I've been practicing my shang. In nairobi, they don't speak any sort of real swahili... its all mixed up with english, mother tongue, and another language possible. Even this week we taught a lesson and had 4 languages involved.....YA!
Also this week we met with Gerald, our investigator who is supposed to be baptized this week. But he wont be baptized this week.... but its for a good reason! He wants his family to also be baptized the same time as him, but they don't live in Nairobi, but lucky enough its a place where the church is, Kyambeke (prounounced chambeke.... its kikamba... aka celestial language haha). So we are hoping that the missionaries there will teach them and they will accept. So no idea when he will be baptized, but he is still doing great.
Again, tons of driving..... hahahah. But I'm gettin more adapted to driving here. Still pretty lost on all the roads.... there are no street signs or anything! Its just that you need to know land marks. turn left at the orange shop, go about 100 meters down the road and when you see the 3 rocks on the right hand side of the road that's where you know to turn left and then go another 50 meters and romp over the curb and then turn left......... hahah ya that's basically how it goes here. Its very interesting.... hahah! I was able to go to Rongai again to take the sister missionaries to the dentist. And i was also able to see the Ondiego family again! Even this week i have seen a lot of members from the Rongai branch just all over the place.
Saturday we had to do a last minute exchange with the Assistants, so i got to go on exchanges for the day with Elder Nyambita.... my trainer! it was cool and brought back the memories of being with him in Rongai. pretty cool.
Did some tracting this week, found some cool new people to work with. Even one of them came to church!! And one random lady we contacted said that she wants to join the Mormon tabernacle choir.... hahah its a start but you gotta be a member first!!! so hopefully we will see her this week. Hopefully sometime within the next month or 2 we will have a baptism for Jackson, problem is he lives far and we cant take matatus anymore, but we teach him every sunday, and he comes every sunday soo haha its nice.
But all is well here!! Just enjoyin my time as a missionary. Love you all and CTR!
Elder Thomas
